This week’s numbers comparison reflect a drop in usage for every category
except seniors which begs the question, how well are we serving the dietary
needs of our pantry users?
Food pantries in general (with enormous help from Good Shepherd) are
offering healthier foods than in years past. Examples include no salt added
canned goods, high fiber cereals and whole grain pastas, fresh fruits
(apples, bananas and oranges this week) and vegetables, etc. Limited
supplies of organic foods are also available for people with chemical
sensitivities and sugar substitutes for diabetics.
Households 220 (280)
Adults 317 (413)
Senior 116 (108)
Children 151 (252)

Wishing everyone an exceptionally healthy New Year,
