Blue Hill company helps feed hungry people—and pets

Shawn Simon (right), of Blue Hill technology company NCWS, surprised Tree of Life volunteers with a $1,500 donation on October 17—a day when, by 1 p.m., the food pantry had supplied 475 people with groceries. “We want to show our thanks to our community and neighbors,” said Simon. “We hope to poke the bee’s nest and see a reaction throughout the local business community in donations to the Tree of Life.” NCWS also offered TradeWinds Market Place $500 to gather and deliver pet supplies to the food pantry, “because when life brings challenges, our pets fight through these challenges with us,” Simon said. Volunteer Brenda Means said the contribution would make “an incredible difference.”
