The following combination of ingredients makes a naturally sweet treat for anytime:
Chocolate Oat Truffles
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup pitted dates, chopped
2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup peanut butter (or any nut butter)
2 tsp. vanilla extract
pinch of grated nutmeg
pinch of cinnamon
Process oats in a food processor until finely ground.
Add the rest of the ingredients and continue to process until a dough is formed.
Roll Into balls of about 2 tsp. each, pressing firmly so they stick together.
Optional: roll balls in additional cocoa powder to coat.
Refrigerate and keep chilled until ready to serve.
